How to use ICAMA

How to use ICAMA

In order to experience the full benefits offered by the ICAMA douche, it is important to know how to use it correctly. With practice, using it will become as easy and routine as cleaning your teeth.
1. Connections
2. Basic steps
3. Four different methods of use of the ICAMA douche.

Firstly, you need to decide whether you want to connect the ICAMA to a tap or a shower, or to use a fluid container filled with water instead. The ICAMA package includes a 2-metre flexible plastic tube, which connects the ICAMA to a water supply. If the tube is too long, you can cut a piece of it for your convenience, and to suit the location of the water container or your tap/shower point. Also you can cut a short piece of the tube to fill in the fluid container quicker.

Tap connection

The ICAMA can be easily connected to most household mixer taps via the tap connector. Join one end of the tube with the ICAMA and attach its other end to the tap connector by pushing it inside the narrow opening of the connector. Push the larger opening of the connector firmly onto your tap nozzle. Now the ICAMA is ready for use.

When the ICAMA douche is joined to your tap or shower, it is reliant on the hot and cold water supplied by your heating system. It is important to have a stabiliser, which automatically adjusts the water temperature preventing it from becoming too hot. If you do not have a stable water supply, you need to maintain the water temperature of no more than 20°C in order to avoid any risk of scalding. If you feel a change in the water temperature, while using the ICAMA, react quickly and pull the device out of your body.

Shower connection

A direct shower connection, as well as the tap connection, ensures faster cleansing, and a stronger flow also provides a maximum hydromassaging effect. To avoid burning yourself, make sure that the incoming water is not too hot. Its temperature must not exceed 37°C (98°F). Then, follow these steps as seen on the pictures:

1. Disconnect your showerhead from its shower tube;
2. Screw the connector with the plastic tube to the shower tube;
3. Join an inlet port at the base of the ICAMA with the other end of the plastic tube;
4. You can attach the off-cut of the plastic tube to the outlet port of the ICAMA, if you want to drain the outgoing water from the bath.

Fluid container connection

You can fill in the 5-litre fluid container with water directly via a tap. Alternatively use one of the connectors. For instance, disconnect your shower tube from a showerhead and screw the shower connector to it. Join the fluid container with the connector via a piece of plastic tube and fill it in with 2½–4 litres of warm water.

Close a small tap on the fluid container which is now ready for use. Place the filled fluid container at an elevated level so that the natural force of gravity can gently wash out the vagina for a few minutes. You can hang it or put it on a shelf at over 70cm (2½ feet) above your pelvic area.

Note: In case of a gynaecological condition you may add a medicated solution to water in the container, if advised by your medical practitioner.

Women can easily fill the container (2.5 - 4 litres), using either the shower tap connector or bath tap connector provided in the kit.

Basic steps

Step 1. First, wash your hands and genital area. Then assemble the two clean parts of the ICAMA by clicking them together.

Step 2. When inserting the ICAMA, the key is to relax. Feeling nervous may make you tense, making insertion harder. Get into a comfortable position. You can sit in a bath, on a toilet or bidet, stand slightly leaning on a shower wall or put one leg on the edge of a bath or a shower tray before you insert the device.

Step 3. Hold the ICAMA – connected to either the plastic container or directly to tap or to your shower point – in one hand. Test the water running out of the ICAMA to check that the temperature is correct. Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the device firmly. With your other hand fold back the vaginal lips. Bring the rounded tip of the ICAMA up to the vaginal opening and insert the tip into the vagina.

Step 4. Take a breath and then gently push the ICAMA into the vagina so that it seals the entrance. Begin using it as described below.

The ICAMA can be used by four different methods:

1 Quick method (using straight flow) for up to one minute
2 Comfortable bathing method (using straight or reversed flow)
3 Gynaecological hydromassage (using straight, reversed and pulsing flow)
4 Active method (using straight or reversed flow)

The details of the use of the ICAMA check in the instruction.
